The 2012 Olympics will be set upon by zombies in new Welsh horror flick

Production company Severn Screen (previously known as Garage Light Films) and Warp Films have secured £150,000 from the Film Agency for Wales to fund a zombie movie based around the 2012 Olympics. Said flick doesn’t have a title yet, nor are the plot specifics known – although I’d like to think the flick will have world class athletes squaring off against a horde of the undead.

UK distributor Revolver is also co-financing. Chris Boyle will direct while Kate Crowther (SUBMARINE) will produce. Principal photography will begin in September in Wales.

There’s some kind of sad irony here, as obviously the 2012 Olympics are set to go down in London, where currently there are hundreds of brainless fools doing loads of damage. Perhaps this movie will be able to comment on this particular idiocy.
