If you read our Comic-Con TWIXT coverage (if you haven’t, check it right HERE), you know that Francis Ford Coppola is doing some very odd, unusual things with his new gothic horror flick, which stars Val Kilmer, Ben Chaplin, Elle Fanning and Bruce Dern. Now, thanks to the Toronto Film Festival’s official site, the flick has three new stills to share, all of which are weird in their own right.

In the first, above, Val Kilmer’s mystery writer character is being taken on a journey by none other than Edgar Allen Poe (Chaplin). In the second, we see Kilmer and Bruce Dern standing over a corpse that has obviously been staked. In the third, Elle Fanning’s ghost child keeps watch over Kilmer.

Inspired by the gothic horror of Edgar Allen Poe, Coppola’s latest tells the tale of a burnt-out mystery writer (Val Kilmer) who gets mixed up in murder and evil in a California town.

No release dates have been announced for the TWIXT Toronto Film Festival screening, but we’ll keep you posted.
