In a story that has the fanboy in me excited, Dread Central reports that Bill Moseley has been cast in LEATHERFACE 3D (also known as THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D). Moseley, a genre favorite, appeared in THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2 as Chop-Top back in 1986.

This time, he will play the character of Drayton, an obvious send up to the cook/father character from the first two flicks. No word on if it will be the same character or just an homage in name, but I’m hoping for the former. Moseley could have fun with it.

The movie is currently casting, so we should hear more soon. The plan is to shoot later this month in Louisiana. John Luessenhop (TAKERS) is directing from a script by Debra Sullivan, Adam Marcus and Stephen Susco, with recent re-writes by Luessenhop and Kirsten Elms.

The story, a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, reportedly revolves around a girl who travels to Texas with her friends to collect an inheritance, only to discover that her cousin is none other than Leatherface. Multiple sequels are planned.
