Not sure if this will prove to be AITH appropriate in the long-run, but anytime those wackos over at Platinum Dunes set up a haunted house picture, we’re obligated to run that shite.

Enter THE HAUNTREPRENEUR.

The Hollywood Reporter has it that Paramount has just picked up rights to Scott Rosenberg’s original spec script THE HAUNTREPRENEUR, which will be produced by Platinum Dunes.

Described tonally as CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, the story centers on a family that has trouble adjusting to a new town and hires a peculiar man, the Hauntrepreneur, to help it. The man attempts to bring them together by creating a haunted house populated by an odd cast of characters.

Sounds fun enough, no?

Rosenberg (above) is no stranger to film and TV, dude wrote THINGS TO DO IN DENVER WHEN YOU’RE DEAD, BEAUTIFUL GIRLS, CON AIR, GONE IN SIXTY SECONDS, HIGH FIDELITY (one of my favorites) and HIGHWAY. He’s since transitioned to TV, writing for “October Road,” “Life On Mars” and “Happy Town.”

“Happy Town” hottie Amy Acker!
