New posters for Cabin in the Woods poke fun at ongoing release problems

What was once a highly anticipated horror gem heading our way is now a flick that’s been doomed to sit on the dusty shelf in the corner of the room. I’m of course talking about Drew Goddard’s THE CABIN IN THE WOODS. While this thing started with all kinds of positive steam behind it, things have pretty much fizzled out thanks to it’s release problems and MGM’s financial woes.

Now lately we’ve been teased with the possibility of this thing finally finding it’s way off that shelf and the filmmakers behind it are just as frustrated as we hear. Case and point the newest ‘tweets’ over at the official CABIN IN THE WOODS Twitter page. Check it:

If you make a kick-ass horror movie… #EnterTheCabin

Coming October 23, 2009… #EnterTheCabin

And following both tweets are the posters you see below. Pretty awesome right? But clever one-sheets aren’t all I’m here to tell you about today. It seems over at the flick’s Facebook page there’s been a campaign started to try and get this shite released. Chances are you probably want to see CABIN IN THE WOODS as bad as I do, if not more, so head on over to Facebook and help get it out there!

“The Cabin in the Woods” storyline provides a new twist on a classic scenario — in this case the young-people-stranded-in-the-woods horror trope.

THE CABIN IN THE WOODS stars Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford, Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz, Jesse Williams, Brian White, and Amy Acker (below). Still no telling when this one might see the light of day but hopefully we’ll have an update for you all soon.
