I don’t know about you guys, but I absolutely love the Alamo Drafthouse/Mondo poster series. It’s even better when they are genre-based, so I’m happy to report that Wes Craven is the next filmmaker in their Director’s Series.
The first two posters in the series – for A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET and SCREAM – can be seen below. They were created by artist Alex Pardee. Additional titles scheduled include SWAMP THING, THE HILLS HAVE EYES and THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT.
Wes Craven had to this to say about his participation: “It’s an honor and great fun to be chosen by Mondo to participate in their Director’s Series. I think the posters brim with wild imagination and sly humor. Thank you so much – I’m pleased my films have earned a place in your gallery!”
Mondo Creative Director Justin Ishmael added, “Answering the phone. Taking a nap. Going to the movies. One man has made each of these seemingly innocent and normal activities terrifying. Wes Craven has been traumatizing audiences for years and we are very proud to add this master of horror and suspense to the ever growing ranks of Mondo Director’s Series.”
If you want to pick up one of these bad boys – and I know you do – You’ll have to follow @MondoNews on Twitter. They will tweet tomorrow, April 14, when they go on sale. You’ll have to act quickly, because quantities are limited and will sell out fast.
