The last we heard on Stephen Sommer’s ODD THOMAS adaptation the great Willem Dafoe was eyeing a key role in the film. That’s badass and all but today I’ve got news on who’ll be playing the villain in this little shindig!
According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog none other than SCREAM 4’s Nico Tortorella is close to nabbing the villain role in the film. Once the Is are dotted and Ts are crossed Tortorella will be starring in the film as ‘an officer working under the sheriff, secretly a member of a Satanic cult bent on destroying the town.’ Groovy.
The story centers on a short-order cook named Odd Thomas who can commune with the dead, a secret only his girlfriend and the local police chief know.
The young man can also spot malevolent forces called bodachs, who feed on pain and portent imminent death. When Odd sees them in spades surrounding a stranger, he finds himself in a race against time to avert a catastrophe.
If he was to sign, Tortorella (above) would be joining Anton Yelchin, Tim Robbins and Addison Timlin (below) in the film. And of course Willem Dafoe if he signs as well. ODD THOMAS is set to start filming late Spring/early Summer in New Mexico so expect a lot more THOMAS updates soon!
