Yuen Woo-Ping’s action epic True Legend opening in select theaters on May 13

Yuen Woo-Ping is best known to western audiences for his martial arts skills, which he has put to use choreographing complex fight scenes in such films as KILL BILL, THE MATRIX and CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON. He has also directed a number of pictures in his native China, the latest being the action epic TRUE LEGEND.

Indomina Releasing will be putting TRUE LEGEND in select U.S. theaters on May 13. It will be playing in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Honolulu, and Austin. If you’re near one of those cities, be sure to check it out. Need convincing? Just take a look at the trailer and poster below.

The film is written by To Chi-long (FEARLESS) and stars Vincent Zhao, Zhou Xun, Andy On, Guo Xiaodong, Jay Chou, Michelle Yeoh, Gordon Liu, Cung Le and David Carradine in one of his final roles.

Su Can’s respectable life is obliterated when his vengeful brother, Yuan, returns from war armed with the deadly Five Venom Fists. Weakened but not destroyed, Su Can learns a never-before-seen form of martial arts: the Drunken Fist. Armed with this new power, he returns home to honor his family through retribution by taking on his brother in a battle to become the ultimate warrior.
