This is the day I’ve been waiting for: THE ROOMMATE has nabbed itself a home video release date. This film has screamed “wait until DVD!” since the day it was born, and the wait is almost over. Sony announced today that the Christian E. Christiansen film will come out on MAY 17th. Cancel any plans you might have on that day, buy a six-pack of your favorite beverage (a six-pack of vodka, perhaps?) and enjoy!
Both the Blu-ray and DVD will include a Commentary with Director Christian E. Christiansen, an Alternate Opening Sequence and Deleted Scenes. The Blu-ray alone will include “Obsession: The Making of The Roommate”, “The Roommate: Next Generation of Stars” and “Dressing Dangerously”, which I assume focuses on the film’s exciting wardrobe..?
Starring Leighton Meester (pictured below), Minka Kelly, Billy Zane and Cam Gigandet, THE ROOMMATE breaks down like this: She’s cute. She’s loyal. She’s psychotic. And, unfortunately for college freshman Sara (Kelly), she’s her new roommate. When Sara arrives at school, she finds new romance with Stephen (Gigandet) and forms a fast friendship with her roommate Rebecca (Meester). What begins as camaraderie soon turns creepy, and Sara comes face-to-face with the terrifying realization that her new best friend is obsessive, unbalanced…and maybe even a killer!
