Were you guys even aware there was trouble with the production of THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER? Because this is news to me! Hell last month we got word that Jude Law was set to join the flick and all was good in the world. Now it seems things are slowing down pretty quickly.
Where am I getting this from? Well director David Slade, who’s attached to direct THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER, recently posted the following ‘tweet’ over on his Twitter page in regards to the film:
“The Last Voyage of the Demeter, Noomi Rapace and Ben Kingsley want to do it, so do I.”
Alright… Well we want you to do it too Slade! Unfortunately that’s all we’ve got to go on so there’s no telling if this thing is seriously in trouble or if it’s just hitting a couple speedbumps. What says you guys? You hear anything else regarding THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER? Spit some bullets below and let us know!
Demeter was the name of the ship that transported Dracula from Transylvania to London in Bram Stoker’s classic tale. In that novel, it washes up on the shores of England, tattered and broken, with one raving mad survivor. THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER places the voyage center stage in a tale that is reminiscent of the first movie in the Alien franchise, in which a crew is slaughtered one-by-one by a mysterious passenger.
The film has Law and Rapace (below) attached with Kingsely just in talks the last we heard. Of course we’ll be on the lookout for more updates on THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER so be sure to check back soon for those!
