We last told you about Sergei Bodrov’s THE SEVENTH SON back at the beginning of February, when the great Jeff Bridges was announced as the first name to join the cast. So here I am a little over a month later with yet another talented name throwing their hat into the ring.
According to the guys over at Bloody-Disgusting the talented and beautiful Julianne Moore is the second name to join THE SEVENTH SON. Apparently Moore (below) will be playing ‘”Mother Malkin,” the most sinister of witches who uses blood magic.’ Nice!
Tom Ward, a young boy training to be an exorcist in the 1700’s, must learn how to exorcise ghosts, contain witches, and bind boggarts. Trouble begins when he’s tricked into releasing the most evil witch in the world.
THE SEVENTH SON is based on THE WARDSTONE CHRONICLES, the first novel from Joseph Delaney’s popular young-adult series THE LAST APPRENTICE. A young adult series about exorcisms? Wouldn’t have guessed that one… Production is set to kick off on September 13th in Vancouver so we’ll be on the lookout for more updates in the coming months!
