Timur Bekmambetov’s alternate-history 3D horror-action extravaganza ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER is currently shooting in Louisiana, but that doesn’t mean it’s finished casting up. According to Variety, “Firefly”/SERENITY alum Alan Tudyk has just come aboard the film.

Tudyk will be playing politician Stephen A. Douglas, who – in real life – lost out to Lincoln in the presidential election of 1860. In Seth Grahame-Smith’s novel, Douglas is depicted as an ally of the Southern vampires.

The actor, also well known for his roles in DODGEBALL and I, ROBOT (he was Sonny the Robot) joins Benjamin Walker, Anthony Mackie, Dominic Cooper, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jimmi Simpson and Robin McLeavy in the Tim Burton-produced film, which has a scheduled JUNE 22, 2012 release date set.
