Producer Roger Corman’s next foray into the ever-popular genetically-mutated super-animal subgenre is PIRANHACONDA. Naturally, it’s about a a half-piranha, half-anaconda creature with “razor sharp teeth and 100 feet of constricting power.

You know how these kinds of flicks always feature an actor or two that are a few years past their prime? Well word is out that Michael Madsen (right, RESERVOIR DOGS) and supermodel Rachel Hunter (below) will star in the movie. Madsen will play Dr. Lovegrove, while Hunter will play Thalia. Also cast are Michael Swan, Diana Terranova, Terri Ivens, Shandi Finnessey and Kurt Yaeger.

The film is currently in production on the isalnd of Kauai under the direction of Jim Wynorski (CHOPPING MALL). The script is penned by Mike MacLean (SHARKTOPUS). No release date has been set, but I think it’s a safe bet to guess that it will premiere on Syfy in late 2011/early 2012.
