Twitter just keep on giving. Right after Frank Grillo’s Twitter feed provided us with some neat peeks at the set of THE GREY comes more helpful information from the social network, this in the form of actual news: DJ Caruso, director of the just-released I AM NUMBER FOUR, announced yesterday that he’s officially on board the PREACHER adaptation. This backs up last week’s rumor that Caruso was circling the project, which centers on a small-time preacher who is on a mission to find God while battling all manner of supernatural beings.
The helmer tweeted: My deal just closed on Preacher. Going back to the dark side and pretty fucking pumped!
Caruso will attempt to mount a film version of the Garth Ennis comic that directors like Sam Mendes, Joe Carnahan, Robert Rodriguez, Darren Aronofsky, Kevin Smith and Mark Steven Johnson could not. No word if John August’s script is still being used.
In addition to I AM NUMBER FOUR, Caruso’s credits include EAGLE EYE, DISTURBIA and THE SALTON SEA.
