One project we are all very excited about here at AITH is Warner Bros.’ upcoming web series based on the popular fan-made trailer for the film MORTAL KOMBAT: REBIRTH. That’s right folks! A dark, gritty, some-what realistic take on the MORTAL KOMBAT universe. Sh*t of course we’re excited for this one!
Last week we learned that the gorgeous Jeri Ryan would be joining the project as ‘Sonya Blade.’ Now we’ve got word on who will be stepping up to play the character ‘Kano!’ Ready for this?
According to a recent press release from Warner Bros. we’ve got 300’s Darren Shahlavi joining the film as the ‘sly and cunning’ ‘Kano.’ He joins the previously announed Ryan (below), Michael Jai White and Anthony Dale.
Written by Kevin Tancharoen, Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing, and available online this spring from Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, the “Mortal Kombat” digital new media series is an anthology of multiple live action shorts. Each episode will provide never-before-revealed insights into characters featured in the upcoming videogame as well as the game’s universe.
We can expect insight into the history behind characters such as Sonya Blade, Scorpion, Liu Kang, Kano, Major Jackson ‘Jax’ Briggs, Sub-Zero and Johnny Cage among many others I’m sure! Filming is now underway in Vancouver so be sure to keep it here for all the MORTAL KOMBAT updates that’re sure to be heading our way!
