At first glance this project I’m about to tell you all about didn’t seem to have a place here at AITH but after this last update dare I say it might be twisted enough to catch our interest? Let me school you all a bit and I’ll let you guys decide!
I’m talking about Bryan Singer’s JACK THE GIANT KILLER, which obviously is a twisted retelling of the popular JACK AND THE BEANSTALK fairy tale. News over at Deadline New York has the titular role of ‘Jack’ being offered to young actor Nicholas Hoult. Now Hoult would be an idiot to pass on this one considering this role is a very hot topic in Hollywood, though we’re unsure why exactly. Cast already signed on for the flick includes Bill Nighy, Stanley Tucci and John Kassir. So as you can see this thing isn’t fooling around.
Jack the Giant Killer is a scary revisionist take on the Jack and the Beanstalk mythology and follows a farmer who leads an expedition into the giants’ kingdom to rescue a kidnapped princess.
Hoult hasn’t officially accepted the role though I’m sure it’s just a matter of time. So what do you guys think about JACK THE GIANT KILLER? Be sure to hit us with your thoughts below!
My gut is telling me this one may be one to keep an eye on. We’ll follow along with JACK THE GIANT KILLER but if we decide it doesn’t fit here at AITH we’ll drop it quicker than Mark Sanchez’s date at the High School prom.
