Earlier this month Alex hit you all with news on a new home invasion thriller heading our way called YOU’RE NEXT. You guys remember that shite? Well just in case you missed it allow me to update you all right quick!
The flick is coming our way from director Adam Wingard and writer Simon Barrett. We also found out that Keith Calder and Jessica Wu would be producing the flick with a start date of March 17th in Missouri. We also got a look at the synopsis but today we’ve got a slightly better description. Check it:
You’re Next details the story of the Davison family who come under attack from a group of sadistic murderers during a family reunion getaway. Barricaded in the vacation home, they fight off a barrage of attacks from both inside and outside the house. But the masked killers don’t count on the yet-to-be-cast Erin, the young girlfriend of the eldest Davison son whose mysterious past has made her very difficult to kill.
Also coming our way today courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter’s Risky Business blog is a nifty little cast list set up for YOU’RE NEXT. So who’s going to be the group tackling this one? A.J. Bowen, Joe Swanberg, Amy Seimetz, Ti West and James Ransone. That’s who! And yes… That would be director Ti West (above), who has actually acted a couple other times in his flicks THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL and THE ROOST. Snoot Entertainment and finance house HanWay Films are currently pimping this one out at the European Film Market with the promise that the writing/directing duo of Wingard and Barrett “are the perfect team to inject some much-needed fun and energy into the home invasion genre.” Let’s hope so!
