Do you guys remember me telling you all about a little exorcism flick called THE DEVIL INSIDE? Don’t worry… I’m sure you’re not the only ones that forgot.
So that’s why I’m coming here today to give you all an update on the William Brent Bell film. The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog is dropping word that Paramount’s low-budget arm Paramount Insurge just snatched up THE DEVIL INSIDE with hopes that it’ll follow suit with PARANORMAL ACTIVITY – making a sh*t-ton of money on basically no budget. Though unlike PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, THE DEVIL INSIDE is jumping into a sub-genre that has several films involved right now – exorcism flicks. Then again who knows… Maybe there’s something to THE DEVIL INSIDE?
Told in – what else? – the documentary style, the story centers on a woman who has been led to believe her mother brutally murdered three people because she was clinically insane. After being told the murders occurred during an exorcism, she sets out to discover the truth. While documenting her experience with a film crew in Italy, she becomes involved in a series of unauthorized exorcisms.
The flick stars a relative unknown cast that includes Fernanda Andrade (pictured), Simon Quarterman, Evan Helmuth, Suzan Crowley, Bonnie Morgan, Preston James Hillier, D.T. Carney, and Ionut Grama. So that’s all we’ve got on Paramount’s latest pick-up but you can be sure we’ll keep our eyes and ears open for more on THE DEVIL INSIDE in the coming weeks.
