One project that has caught my eye since it was first announced is the upcoming comic adaptation R.I.P.D., which has Robert Schwentke directing with Ryan Reynolds starring. Why has this shite interested me? I have no idea to be honest… One of those gut feelings I suppose.
The last we heard the project was actually in trouble of losing it’s star but if The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog is to be believed then everything is fine in the land of R.I.P.D., actually it may be snatching up it’s second star!
According to the blog none other than Zach Galifianakis is finally in substantive talks to join the supernatural action romp. Mind you the actor has been circling the project for a few months now so the fact that he’s finally ‘in talks’ might not mean much… But it might mean everything! Now if all this jive falls into place Galifianakis will play Reynolds’ partner, a wise-cracking officer who’s been hunting spirits since the 1800s.
Two cops, one recently dead and a gunslinger who’s been dead for hundreds of years, work on the Rest In Peace Department – which is the police department of the dead. And they basically…it takes place on a normal day and it’s about trying to keep the dead quiet.
So what do you guys think? Would you like to see Galifianakis (above) alongside Reynolds for R.I.P.D. or were you picturing someone else for the role? Hit us with your thoughts below and be sure to keep it here for more on R.I.P.D. as it comes our way!
