Following a long road to get it to the market, Mondo Macabro has released LORNA THE EXORCIST on DVD today. The film was composited from a number of different sources, including the original negative. The final cut runs at nearly 100 minutes and contains footage never included on any video release.
The disc will include both English and French audio tracks. Special features include a profile on director Jess Franco by author Stephen Thrower, an analysis of the film by Thrower, and an interview with editor Gerard Kikoine. Check out the cover art below, along with a clip. Here is the synopsis:
Patrick, a rich businessman, celebrates his daughter Linda’s 18th birthday by taking her and his wife to a famous casino resort in the south of France, where, 20 years earlier, he had won the money that enabled him to start his business and begin his rise to the top. At the casino he meets the beautiful and mysterious Lorna, whom he first encountered that night 20 years ago. She reminds him that he made a promise to her back then. She is the power behind his success and now she has returned to claim her reward – his daughter, Linda.
The movie, originally released in 1974, is co-written by Franco, Nicole Guettard and Robert de Nesle. It stars Pamela Stanford, Guy Delorme, Lina Romay, and Jacqueline Laurent.
