We’re not quite sure what’s going on with Hammer Films’ THE RESIDENT. It was originally scheduled for a Spring theatrical release, then it was announced that it would instead be hitting DVD and Blu-ray on March 29th. Now it seems that there is still a possibility it will be play theaters.
THE RESIDENT will reportedly be available via DirecTV on February 18th. DirecTV Vice President Sarah Lyons says that the film will be “available to our customers the very same day it hits theaters.” What’s particularly interesting about that is that no theatrical release has been announced. If a limited release is coming, rights holders Image Entertainment best get to promoting it, as the date is only a couple of weeks away.
