One upcoming feature that should be a pretty solid flick is Pascal Laugier’s THE TALL MAN. I don’t know why exactly but I’ve got a good feeling about this one… Or maybe that’s just the feeling in my pants… You know, because of Jessica Biel. … Anyway.
Today, via Variety, we’ve got news on a couple international studios snatching up distribution rights for Laugier’s latest genre flick. In Spain it seems Antena 3 and DeAPlaneta have snatched up rights for THE TALL MAN with Antena 3 handling the TV rights for the film and the Barcelona-based DeAPlaneta handling theatrical and DVD rights. Meanwhile in France we’ve got SND handling French rights to the flick as well as scoring the task of selling THE TALL MAN internationally. There you have it folks. Not a huge update but it’s nice to see things moving along with THE TALL MAN.
Set in the town of Cold Rock, The Tall Man is a story of the haunting secrets that hide behind closed doors. With children gone missing over the years, leaving neither a clue nor a witness, superstitious locals talk of ‘The Tall Man,’ a legendary, mysterious dark figure who takes children away never to be seen again. When a woman’s son is taken, the chase is on and with it the quest for answers: Who is the Tall Man, and what happens to the children?
The film sports a cast that includes Jessica Biel (below), Teach Grant, William B. Davis, Samantha Ferris and Jodelle Ferland (above). Unfortunately there’s no word on a US release but hopefully that news will be coming along soon!
