ALFRED HITCHCOCK AND THE MAKING OF PSYCHO, a film based on Stephen Rebello’s book about the legendary filmmaker making his 1960 classic, has been in development for a while. It seems that executives at Ivan Reitman’s Montecito Pictures are ready to move forward with the project.
Sacha Gervasi, director of the 2009 hit documentary ANVIL! THE STORY OF ANVIL, is in discussions to write and direct the picture. Drafts had previously been written by Rebello and John McLaughlin (BLACK SWAN), but it seems like they’re starting fresh at the source material. Here is the book’s description:

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m excited to see this one come to life. PSYCHO is one of my all-time favorite films. We’ll keep you updated as to whether or not Gervasi signs on.
