While it was originally planned that all eight of the After Dark Originals would be released simultaneously (much like their HorrorFest films), After Dark Films announced a last minute chance of plans. SCREAM OF THE BANSHEE and 51 will be releases on their own later this year, with dates to be determined.
This two films were co-produced by Syfy, which seems to be the reason for the extra push. The remaining six films – FERTILE GROUND, GROUND, HUSK, PROWL, RE-KILL, SECONDS APART, and THE TASK – will be released on January 28th in ten theaters across the country before hitting DVD on March 28th.
In SCREAM OF THE BANSHEE, an archeology professor unearths a dangerous artifact, unwittingly releasing a creature that is able to kill with the power of its bone-splitting scream. It’s directed by Steven C. Miller (AUTOMATON TRANSFUSION) and written by Anthony C. Ferrante (BOO). Lauren Holly (below, DUMB & DUMBER) and Lance Henriksen (ALIENS) star.
51 chronicles what happens after pressure from the public forces the Air Force to provide a few well-known reporters with limited access to Area 51. It’s directed by Jason Connery (PANDEMIC) and written by Kenny Yakkel (DEAD AIR). Bruce Boxleitner (TRON) and Jason London (DAZED AND CONFUSED) star.
