It seems like Colin Farrell is really excited for this FRIGHT NIGHT remake huh? He can’t stop talking about it! First he spoke to Collider about the project just a few days ago and here we are now with more news on Colin Farrell spitting some stuff about the remake.
This time Farrell chats it up with MTV, where he decides to compare the upcoming FRIGHT NIGHT remake to the original film. Scope out what the actor had to say:
“I mean, it’s close enough in structure and story [to the original], but there are some things that have been changed. Peter Vincent’s a lot younger, and what he does has kind of been put into a very contemporary setting. There are some changes. … I mean, I loved the original, and I hope the film is — on it’s own — entertaining and works. Because I really did love the original, so much so that — as I’ve said — I was hoping I wouldn’t like the remake when I read it, because I didn’t want to have to answer questions about remakes and lack of originality and all that s—. I didn’t want to think of myself in those terms either, so I was hoping that I didn’t like it. But read it and I’m an actor and I loved it and I went, ‘OK, let’s go to work.'”
Seems all fine and dandy to me. Colin Farrell is a pretty straight shooter and seems to know which projects he should go after so if he’s stoked for FRIGHT NIGHT then it may actually be worth something, no? You can scope out the video of the interview directly below.
