The buzzed-about South Korean thriller I SAW THE DEVIL is gearing up for a screening at the Sundance Film Festival this weekend, and our friends at AICN scored a look at the U.S. one-sheet for the flick. It looks pretty damn cool; check it out below to see for yourself.
If you won’t be in Utah for Sundance, fear not: Magnet Releasing is giving the film a limited theatrical release on March 4th. The Arrow listed this bad boy as one of his Top 10 Films of 2010, so you know you’re not going to want to miss it. Here’s the plot:
Kyung-chul, a dangerous psychopath who kills for pleasure. He has committed infernal serial murders in diabolic ways that one cannot even imagine and his victims range from young women to even children. The police have chased him for a long time, but were unable to catch him. One day, Joo-yeon, daughter of a retired police chief becomes his prey and is found dead in a horrific state.
Her fiance Dae-hoon, a top secret agent, decides to track down the murderer himself. He promises himself that he will do everything in his power to take bloody vengeance against the killer, even if it means that he must become a monster himself to get this monstrous and inhumane killer.
The film is directed by Kim Jee-woon (A TALE OF TWO SISTERS), written by Park Hoon-Jung, and stars Choi Min-sik (OLDBOY) and Lee Byung-hun (G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF THE COBRA).
