So I’m going to be honest with you guys… I just recently watched the trailer for Daniel Barnz’s BEASTLY and actually paid attention to it for the first time… and the thing didn’t look half bad. Don’t get me wrong mind you, I won’t be running out to my nearest theater to see this one. All I’m saying is perhaps it’s worth a Redbox rental if you use a code for a free rental or something.
Just in case you do happen to be stoked for BEASTLY then I’ve got some awesome news for you all today! According to Variety CBS Films have decided to move BEASTLY’s release up a couple weeks from March 18th to March 4th. Why the big move? Why to beat the Summer crowd of course! And considering the slate hitting theaters this Summer I’d say this is a very smart move by CBS Films. Do you guys agree?
Kyle Kingson, a teen who has it all — looks, intelligence, wealth and opportunity — and a wicked cruel streak. Prone to mocking and humiliating “aggressively unattractive” classmates, he zeroes in on Goth classmate Kendra, inviting her to the school’s extravagant environmental bash. Kendra accepts, and, true to form, Kyle blows her off in a particularly savage fashion. She retaliates by casting a spell that physically transforms him into everything he despises. Enraged by his horrible and unrecognizable appearance he confronts Kendra and learns that the only solution to the curse is to find someone that will love him as he is — a task he considers impossible.
BEASTLY sports a teen-friendly cast that includes Vanessa Hudgens, Alex Pettyfer, Peter Krause, Dakota Johnson, Erik Knudson, Karl Graboshas, Lisa Gay Hamilton, Jonathan Dubsky, David Francis, Gio Perez, Miguel Mendoza, Roc LaFortune, Rhiannon Moller-Trotter and Neil Patrick Harris. Mark it on your calenders folks – BEASTLY now hits theaters on March 4th!
