The last update we got for Jorge Michel Grau’s Mexican cannibal flick WE ARE WHAT WE ARE came back in September when we got a look at the newest trailer for the film. Well here I am a couple months later to tell you all that WE ARE WHAT WE ARE is the latest film to join the whole viral marketing craze.
To get ready for the film’s UK release Artificial Eye and IFC Films have tossed together an intriguing little viral video that seemingly is coming our way from “St Pauls.” So what’s going on in this video? The sudden death of its patriarch leaves a Mexican clan bereft, panicked about their survival, and fumbling to continue a family tradition—namely, a cannibalistic rite that involves the hunting and gathering of fresh human meat in present-day Mexico City.
WE ARE WHAT WE ARE sports a cast that includes Carmen Beato, Paulina Gaitán, Alan Chávez and Francisco Barreiro. The film is set to hit UK theaters on November 12th. Still no word on a US release but as always as soon as we hear any more news regarding the flick we’ll be sure to pass the good word along to all of you!
