Well folks earlier this month I gave you all the old one-two on some casting news regarding the upcoming sequel HELLRAISER: REVELATIONS and here I am today to tell you all the HELLRAISER casting update of all HELLRAISER casting updates! That’s right folks, today we’ve got word on who’ll be putting on the pins for this new entry into the franchise!
It’s no secret that long-time ‘Pinhead’ Doug Bradley announced he wouldn’t be reprising his iconic role in REVELATIONS so that left us all with one huge question: Who’s going to be the new ‘Pinhead?!’ Well folks the guys over at Bloody-Disgusting have the answer to that very question today! You see according to BD none other than Stephan Smith Collins will be stepping in to star in the film as The Pinned One. Wait… who? Exactly. Smith Collins (above) hasn’t really been around much but if looks are any indication he should fit into the role nicely. Then again can you really replace Doug Bradley?
Bloody-Disgusting also have Nick Eversman joining the cast as ‘Steven’ and Jay Gillespie joining as ‘Nico/Pseudo-Pinhead.’ Oh man I don’t know about this ‘Pseudo-Pinhead’ business… I’m getting an ‘Uber-Jason’ feel here.. BD also scored a look at some more plot details:
HELLRAISER: REVELATIONS follows two friends who unleash Pinhead, who becomes their master of pain. Apparently, one of the friends has a change of heart. He backs out on his oath hoping to swap himself out with one of his friend’s family members.
Steve kicks off the mayhem while on a backpacking trip in Mexico with his friend Nico. On their trip the duo are presented with a choice to “experience a reality beyond current existence”thanks to the infamous puzzle box. Pinhead becomes his master.
The story continues as Nico realizes that he’s commitment to Pinhead forever, and thus attempts a daring switch plan to release himself from the puzzle box. But apparently things go wrong as he’s turned into “Pseudo-Pinhead.” This Pseudo-Pinhead is such a devoted servant of Pinhead, he mimics his appearance as closely as possible and revels in the pain that leads to his pleasure.
Alrighty then… You guys can go ahead and take that for what it’s worth. Along with Smith Collins, Eversman and Gillespie the flick also stars Devon Sorvari, Steven Brand, Sanny Van Heteren (below), Tracey Fairaway and Daniel Buran. It’s coming from director Víctor Garcia and is currently filming in Los Angeles.
Now as a big fan of the straight-to-DVD HELLRAISER sequels I’ve got to say… this thing isn’t sounding too hot. What do you guys think? This one have potential or should we give up hope now? As always as soon as we hear more on the project we’ll be sure to pass the good word along to all of you!
