Director David Hackl hasn’t done much since 2008’s SAW V. Actually the only project to have Hackl’s name attached to it right now is THE BUTCHER BRIDE. Guess there’s not much of a demand for his talents, huh?
Well if you’re one of the fewmany who’re eagerly awaiting for more from Hackl you’ll be happy to hear the guys over at The Wrap have the details on a new project from the director! It seems Hackl has just signed on to direct THE RED MACHINE, a spec script from writer Jack Reher. So what’s this bad boy about? Check it:
The story follows two estranged brothers who go on a camping trip and are continuously attacked by an erratic bear that has lost its fear of humans.
Sounds like fun. Hopefully we’re given an edgy killer bear trip and not some half-assed scarefest. Then again it is Hackl behind the camera…
Now THE RED MACHINE doesn’t have any backing yet but it’s currently being shopped out to producers so we should hear more on this little diddy soon. As always be sure to keep it here for more on THE RED MACHINE as we hear it!
