It’s no surprise a new GODZILLA film is on the way courtesy of Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. It’s also no surprise that the film will be coming at us in glorious 3D. A Godzilla flick in 3D… Alright you’ve got my attention.
Now the question pops up: What type of 3D route are they going here? Well this past Monday held a 3DNext Summit in Culver City and GODZILLA 3D producer Brian Rogers shed some light on that very subject! According to The Wrap the producer had the following to say:
“’Clash of the Titans’ is important here. … because it made the industry realize that you cannot do substandard 3D and charge full pricing.”
So basically what he’s saying is CLASH OF THE TITANS is a mistake that was made and that it will (hopefully) never happen again. Hoorah! This is good news folks. This means the GODZILLA film heading our way will be filmed in 3D rather than converted. Natch! Now let’s score a kicking director for this bad boy and get things rolling!
