Boy do I have quite the shocker for you all today! You guys remember back in December 2007, when we first told you about a project called FANGLAND? Oh you read that right. December 2007! Over two years ago we first heard about this project and guess what… We’ve heard zilch since then!
Until today that is. It only took a couple years to find a director for this project, but considering the director they found there’s a good chance this thing is going to be worth the wait! If the title hasn’t given it away already, Variety has genre legend John Carpenter signing on to direct FANGLAND for DAS Films and Blumhouse Prods! That’s right folks. John f*cking Carpenter! Before we continue let me school you all on what we’ve got in store with FANGLAND:
It’s centered on a New York-based producer who travels to Romania for an interview with a notorious European arms dealer, who turns out to be a modern-day Dracula.
So John Carpenter is going to be tackling a modern-day Dracula tale? If that doesn’t scream badass I don’t know what does! Mark Wheaton adapted the script based on the novel by John Marks. Sriram Das, Jason Blum and Tracy Underwood are producing.
So what do you guys think? Carpenter tackling another vampire flick: Yay or nay? Hit us with your thoughts below and keep it here for more on FANGLAND as we hear it!
