Alright, so we know RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE will be gracing our movie screens in three dimensions come September 10th, and we’re stoked for it! But will this bad boy be hitting Imax as well?

Up until now we could only assume AFTERLIFE would be gracing the Imax experience with it’s presence but today, thanks to The Hollywood Reporter, we’ve got confirmation on it! That’s right ladies and gents, starting September 10th you’ll also be able to see RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE in all of it’s Imax glory! Why is this a big deal? Well simply because director Paul W.S. Anderson and company shot this bad boy using 3D cameras, which means it’s going to look boss in Imax! This schmuck just found a reason to be even more excited for the sequel!

Regardless of this being the fourth installment in the franchise, and the fact that Paul W.S. Anderson is behind the camera once again, RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE is actually looking pretty awesome. Then again we’ve been fooled by trailers before so I’m going to be keeping my guard up with this one!

In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, ALICE, continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead takes them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead – and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap.

Starring Milla Jovovich (below), Ali Larter, Wentworth Miller, Boris Kodjoe and Shawn Roberts, RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE will be hitting us in 3D and Imax on September 10th!
