Have you guys ever hear of a Japanese novel called ALL YOU NEED IS KILL? Me neither but apparently it’s a big deal!

You see according to Deadline Hollywood Warner Bros. just coughed up seven figures for this shite! Scribe Dante Harper decided to throw together a spec based on the Hiroshi Sakurazaka novel and Warner decided it was worth over a million bucks! Impressive. Not everyday you see a studio handing out seven figures for a spec script. And that’s not all!

Apparently the deal has ‘an aggressive progress to production clause that will likely get the film before the cameras within 12 months.’ Talk about the fast track. Ready for the brass tacks on ALL YOU NEED IS KILL?

The storyline puts a Groundhog Day plot device into a futuristic alien invasion storyline. A raw recruit, pressed into battle against an alien species, gets killed in action. But he is reborn each day to suffer the same fate. Eventually, he notices that he is becoming a better warrior and that other circumstances are changing, which might be the key to altering the outcome.

So a violent GROUNDHOG DAY where instead of sleeping/suicide, the dude gets killed in battle everyday? Sh*t I’m down! Especially if some big names get attached to this shite. Any ideas? Hit us with your thoughts below and keep it here for more on ALL YOU NEED IS KILL as we hear it!
