Alright, so we know Wes Craven will be doing SCREAM 4. Who didn’t see that coming? For the most part the genre community seems pretty excited to see the revival of SCREAM, including this poor shmuck. I’m a big fan of the entire franchise. But folks with all this talk about SCREAM 4 it seems like everyone’s forgetting about Craven’s ‘other flick.’
I’m talking about MY SOUL TO TAKE (previously titled 25/8). Remember that? Yeah that thing still hasn’t come out and the last update was way back in December! So what’s the deal? The deal is that MY SOUL TO TAKE will be coming at us this October! October 29th to be exact! That’s right, Halloween! Now this date will pretty much put MY SOUL TO TAKE right up against both SAW VII and PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2. I think it’s safe to say Craven’s SOUL will be the underdog. Hey, who doesn’t love rooting for the underdog right?

MY SOUL TO TAKE stars Max Thieriot, John Magaro, Paulina Olszynski, Nick Lashaway, and Emily Meade. The release date came in a ‘tweet’ over at Wes Craven’s Twitter. Pretty smart move by Craven, no? Announcing SOUL’s release date on the coattails of all this SCREAM press. Touche. And it seems thats not all the filmmaker is doing over on Twitter. Craven also posted the below image, showing himself with writer Kevin Williamson in celebration of inking the SCREAM 4 deal. Nice. At least the guys are excited, right?
