If I was to tell you that Lionsgate and Ghost House Pictures would be teaming up to bring us a thriller in the vein of THE SHINING, would that be something you might be interested in? Of course it is!
The flick I’m talking about is called DIBBUCK BOX and the news coming in from Deadline New York has Lionsgate scoring the rights to the film and tasking Ghost House Pictures’ Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert to produce. Intriguing.
The script, being penned by genre regulars Juliet Snowden and Stiles White, is actually based on a true story, described in the LA Times article “A Jinx In A Box.” Apparently both Stephen Susco and E.L. Katz have penned drafts of the script but it seems neither will be used. DIBBUCK BOX will follow a family that finds itself in possession of a haunted box, and struggles to get rid of its evil curse. Oh those darn haunted boxes, they just won’t let up! A Google search for ‘dibbuck box’ produces the above image, so it seems like this thing is actually the real deal. Well if you believe in stuff like that of course.
Now that’s all we’ve got thus far for DIBBUCK BOX but I suppose that’s enough to go off of, right? What do you guys think? You already signing up for DIBBUCK BOX or will you be holding out until we see some goods? Or at least some cast/director announcements. We’ll be keeping you in the know with everything we hear regarding DIBBUCK BOX so be sure to keep it here for updates!
