Back at the beginning of February we got the news that the always gorgeous and sorely missed Alicia Silverstone will be stepping up to star in a horror/comedy heading our way called VAMPS. Well it seems Silverstone (below) won’t exactly be the top dog in the film…
The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog is reporting that none other than Sigourney Weaver (right) has signed on to star in the film as the Vampire Queen! Nice! So we’ve got Weaver, Silverstone and Krysten Ritter, (below) who happens to have her own version of ‘smoking hot’ going on. Well I’m stoked for VAMPS, but that should go without saying.
The film comes from writer/director Amy Heckerling and is actually being described as a romantic-comedy-horror. I wonder what that could mean… Well considering Heckerling is the woman behind flicks like CLUELESS and LOOK WHO’S TALKING I’d say we’re in store for something rather interesting with VAMPS, and I’m definitely down to give it a shot! Check out the synopsis:
Stacy and Goody have been living the good “night-life” in New York City as two young, beautiful vampires until love enters the picture and each has to make a choice that will jeopardize their immortality and much more.
Ohhh intriguing. Unfortunately this sounds like the perfect formula for a romantic comedy with vampires, with the emphasis on the romantic part. Let’s just hope Heckerling adds plenty of fangs at least! VAMPS is currently pegged with a late-April start date so hopefully we hear more soon. As always be sure to keep it here for updates.
