The last update we got on Ridley Scott’s ALIEN prequel came way back in October, when we learned that the film would be taking place roughly 30 years before ALIEN. Alright that’s cool.

So we’ve got Ridley Scott, a juicy script and… three dimensions? That’s right folks it seems Scott’s ALIEN prequel will be coming at us in 3D! This is coming from a site called Shadowlocked, who apparently confirmed it with STAR WARS/ALIEN art director Roger Christian:

“Ridley’s doing the next Alien in 3D.”

I suppose that’s all it takes right? Christian, who hopes to work on the new film, went on to talk a bit more about the project:

“I do. Ridley told me some of his ideas when we were here in Toronto. He has a very clear understanding of where this should go. They kind of stopped dead one of the greatest horror franchises there’s ever been, and it had legs to go on. So I’m hoping he’ll revive another three. The world certainly wants it, and the fans want it – everybody. “

So Xenomorphs in 3D? I suppose I can see the appeal here, right? And Ridley Scott potentially tackling three new ALIEN films? Oh intriguing. All kinds of new developments! Of course that trilogy comment is to be taken with a large grain of salt. Let’s talk some more once this thing actually starts coming along, cool? Cool. To check out the whole interview head right over HERE.

While it’s way to early to chat about a trilogy rumor we could ramble a bit about this ALIEN prequel in 3D. What says you guys? You down for this? Watching these vicious bastards tear sh*t up in 3D? Hit us with your opinions below and keep it here for more on this ALIEN prequel as we hear it!
