According to Variety, there’s a new cat and house police thriller that you and I should probably keep dibs on, at least this early in the process. The film just got picked up by Hyde Park Entertainment and Parkes/MacDonald Prods. to produce, based on the spec by Kenny Golde. The film in question, you ask? KILLER, and boy does it ever sound like a killer ride!
In actuality, it could either be a really hardcore police thriller, or it could go by way of the handheld / torture porn variety. But what’s this? Ah yes… the premise: [KILLER] centers on a rogue police investigator who discovers a video left by a killer, triggering a cat-and-mouse game, with the investigator several steps behind his prey. As the story moves back and forth between the lunatic’s homage to his own madness, and the POV of the investigation, the lines blur until the police become a part of the killer’s film.
Like I said, the potential for this film to rock is fairly high, and I don’t know about you, but it just sounds gritty as hell. With the right people behind–and in front–of the camera, I can see this film reaching awesome new heights in the cop thriller genre.
Stick around for more on KILLER as it comes our way!
