Jeffrey Dean Morgan will join Sam Worthington in The Fields

The Bloody Disgusting band just got an update on the Sam Worthington-led serial killer movie we told you about last week, about a Texas homicide detective who joins with a New York detective to investigate unsolved murders in the Texas bayous.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan (WATCHMEN) has joined the film, which is to be directed by Ami Canaan Mann, whose pop Michael is producing. Don Ferrarone has written the screenplay, based on a true story. Filming is set to begin in Louisiana this Spring.

An interesting side-note: Danny Boyle was tentatively attached to the film for a while, but last year dropped out because he thought the script “was just so dark it would never get made.”

Let’s hope that darkness still remains…
