Bloody Disgusting is reporting that screenwriter Ed Dougherty (2007’s BLACKOUT) has joined the pre-production of MURK, a remake of the Danish thriller Mørke. Dougherty will be re-writing the script. The original, about a journalist’s investigation into his sister’s mysterious death on her wedding night and the whereabouts of her missing fiance, came out in 2005, racking up some accolades along the way.

The remake is being helmed by Marcel Sarmiento and Gadi Harel, the duo behind the controversial DEADGIRL. Gold Circle Films (THE FOURTH KIND) is producing the flick, which doesn’t have a cast yet.
