One film I’m really looking forward to is Martin Scorsese’s SHUTTER ISLAND. It might be because Scorsese is my favorite director and it’s great to see him tackle a twisted genre flick like SHUTTER ISLAND, or maybe it’s because the film stars the super-talented Leonardo DiCaprio.. fact is the movie is looking awesome.
So needless to say when the film was pushed back nearly four months, from November to February, it nearly broke my heart. Slowly but surely the days are moving along though and to tide us over a bit two new stills from SHUTTER ISLAND have popped up on the net today. You can scope those out above and below. SHUTTER ISLAND is a supernatural drama set in 1954, U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels is investigating the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane and is presumed to be hiding on the remote Shutter Island. Along with DiCaprio it also stars Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Emily Mortimer (below), Michelle Williams, Max von Sydow, Patricia Clarkson, Elias Koteas and ‘Freddy Krueger’ himself Jackie Earle Haley, among others. That’s one impressive cast! Then again all Scorsese’s films have an outstanding cast. SHUTTER ISLAND hits theaters everywhere February 19th, which can’t come soon enough!
