What did you guys think of Alexandre Aja’s MIRRORS? The best I can explain how I felt is that I didn’t love it… but I didn’t hate it. I’m a big fan of most of Aja’s work and for the most part I dug MIRRORS, but there was a lot more going on than need be in my opinion. Maybe MIRRORS 2 will be better?
That’s right, in case you didn’t know there is a straight-to-DVD sequel to Aja’s film in the works from director Victor Garcia. We’ve reported on this bad boy before but today is the first time we’ve seen a full cast list as well as a detailed synopsis! Oh joy. As previously reported, Nick Stahl will be starring alongside Jon Michael Davis, Lawrence Turner, Emmanuelle Vaugier (below), Christy Carlson Romano (above), William Katt, Evan Jones, Wayne Pere, Ann McKenzie, Stephanie Honore, Jennifer Sipes and Lance E. Nichols. Well at least this thing has picked up a couple of hotties! That’s always a good thing. Now check out the full synopsis:
When Max, a recovering addict, takes a job as a night time security guard job at his father’s department store, he begins to see visions of a young woman in the store’s mirrors. Unsure whether his visions are side effects of his prescription sleeping pills or actual reality, he begins to look deeper into the source of the images in the mirrors. When employees of the store turn up dead and Max is a suspect in the murders, he must expose the girl’s connection to a scandal within the department store’s walls in order to prove his innocence and put a stop to the spirits in the mirrors.
That actually sounds pretty awesome. I’m liking the idea of this whole ‘mirrors’ thing happening in a working department store rather than a run-down vacant one. And sounds like we’ve got more slasher elements this time around, nice! I just hope we don’t get some kind of twisted story diving into the past with a hidden secret under the floorboards or something. Lensing for MIRRORS 2 has already started so be sure to keep it here for more as we hear it.
