On this relatively slow news day I’m here to bring you all news on yet another graphic novel adaptation. I suppose it’s better than a remake right?

Well today’s graphic novel is IN THE SMALL and the guys over at Pajiba are reporting that I AM LEGEND director Frances Lawrence has signed on to direct the adaptation. Interesting. What exactly is IN THE SMALL? Well check it:

A strange explosion leaves all humans six inches tall, yet nothing else is affected. Those who survive the transition are forced to create a new social order and adjust in a world where man is no longer at the top of the food chain. As they attempt to find out what happened, humanity is faced with a new and existential threat.

Obvious similarties to THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN have people already comparing the two, the only difference being IN THE SMALL seems to be of a larger scale. So what do you guys think? Apparently IN THE SMALL was targeted towards a young teen audience but with Lawrence behind this one it might just end being something awesome? Or… maybe not.

Laura Harrington penned the script based on the Michael Hague graphic novel with Akiva Goldsman producing. As soon as we get official confirmation that Lawrence is attached we’ll pass along the good word to all of you!
