Who in their right mind wouldn’t want to live in a world of “mysterious fairies, raucous warlocks, vampires and other demons?” Right?! Apparently Clary Fray will be getting that very chance!
I’m talking about a flick heading our way called THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS, which is based on the trilogy of novels from Cassandra Clare. The novels are called “City of Bones,” “City of Ashes,” and “City of Glass” and follow teenager Clary Fray’s search for her missing mother, which leads her to a city filled with mysterious fairies, raucous warlocks, vampires and other demons.
Unfortunately these novels are aimed more towards a younger crowd so we might just end up with another CIRQUE DU FREAK on our hands. Shame. I could definitely see myself enjoying a world of fairies, vampires and demons. At least there’s some hope. Variety reports that Jessica Postigo will be adapting the script for Unique Features and Constantin Film. We’ll keep an eye on THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS and hope for the best.
