I’ve made it no secret that I’m a big fan of the SCREAM franchise. I’m a sucker for 90s slasher flicks and that’s all thanks to SCREAM 2. I’m sure I’m not the only one. Actually I’m sure there’s a lot of you out there with just as much love for the franchise. (Or probably just the first film…)
Anyway it’s no secret there’s a SCREAM 4 on the way. For that matter there’s also a SCREAM 5 and SCREAM 6 apparently… but let’s stick with Part 4 for now. It’s also no secret The Weinstein Company are looking to get the gang back together: Stars Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courtney Cox as well as writer Kevin Williamson are all game. But what about Craven? We’ve been bringing you every inkling of an update from day one and that includes random ‘tweets’ from Wes Craven:
“I had dinner with KW last night, and the script sounds fantastic!”
I believe it’s safe to assume ‘KW’ is Kevin Williamson… Well that’s sounding scrumptious! Craven has said numerous times that he’d be game for returning if there’s a good script… and obviously if there’s a nice juicy check waiting for him. Well it looks like things are heading in the right direction! If Craven digs the script then I’m sure The Weinsteins won’t mind throwing a bunch of money at him… and that has me very excited!
No details are known about SCREAM 4 other than it might involve a ‘passing the torch’ type of deal to a new group of characters. But with Sidney, Dewey and Gale returning who knows what to expect! We’ll be keeping a close eye on anything and everything SCREAM 4 so keep it here for updates!
