It seems like news on graphic novels being adapted for the big screen is neverending. Can you blame the industry? A graphic novel is the script and storyboards all in one… It’s all played out. All that’s left to do is direct that shite. Well… for the most part.
Don’t get me wrong though… I’m not complaining. When I hear a graphic novel is set to be adapted I immediately take notice… sometimes we get wicked movies from it! Hopefully this’ll be the case with Warren Ellis’ GRAVEL! Variety are dropping word today that Legendary Pictures just scored rights to the comic, which follows William Gravel, a soldier in the British S.A.S. who uses his skills in dark magic to moonlight and battle supernatural beings for clients in order to make some extra cash.
So basically a human HELLBOY? Or not? Anybody out there get a chance to read GRAVEL? We looking at something good here or should we give up now? Any perfect castings out there for ‘Gravel?’ Ellis will be penning the screenplay and stepping in as executive producer on the project. Now that’s all we know but we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this one and will bring you GRAVEL updates when we hear them!
