The FUTURE of ACTION?

Michael Jay White.

Arrow Addition: In the 80’s we had Sly Stallone
and Arnie owning the
action screens while the 90’s pretty much belonged to Van Damme, Willis and Seagal.
Early in the 2K era it looked like The Rock and Vin Diesel were going to take over. Alas The
Rock shied away from action early on, while Vin Diesel kept making average to
shitty (XXX blew)
action movies. So who the f*ck does an action loving man turn to for some
QUALITY
testosterone driven mayhem today?

Scott Adkins.

Dolph Lundgren is still putting out some solid stuff no doubt and Sly has been
making an action come back for sure. But in my opinion, the future of action
belongs to the  forever underrated  MICHAEL JAI WHITE
(why that dude is not a HUGE star yet is beyond me) and martial arts genius
SCOTT ADKINS
(who headlines the upcoming NINJA). Both these dudes
are young enough, fit as f*ck, can hold their own in terms of acting, look good
on camera and can
whoop ass with the best of them. Don’t believe me? Look at these mofos train
below! Here’s to REAL ACTION coming back to the big screen and these two dudes
owning it when/if it does. CHEERS! Gulp! Gulp!

New ONG BAK 2 review, trailer & poster

I must admit, with a certain amount of shame, that I’ve never seen ONG BAK. I know, I know, what business do I have writing action-related articles if I haven’t yet gotten my ass kicked by Tony Jaa. Well, I’m going to remedy that soon; I also might be inclined to check out the sequel, for which we have a trailer below( via Crave). In addition, we’ve got an EXCLUSIVE t.v. spot to share with ya, and a few new pics, courtesy of our JoBlo.com homies. Looks pretty terrific, although JoBlo.com’s own Chris Bumbray say it’s only “okay” (read his review HERE.)

ONG BAK 2 opens on OCTOBER 23rd.

RED DAWN set pics

RED DAWN comes out almost exactly a year from today – September 24, 2010 to be exact – and it would appear that the production is moving along at full speed if these photos from the Washington set are any indication. I still don’t quite understand why the Chinese are invading us – the only thing I can think of is its political correctness, because after all we’re not really worried about pissing off the Chinese, are we?

For more pictures from the set, head on over to RedDawn2010.com. RED DAWN, from director Dan Bradley, stars Chris Hemsworth, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Isabel Lucas, Josh Hutcherson, Josh Peck, and Adrianne Palicki.

Korean NINJA ASSASSIN poster

James McTeigue’s NINJA ASSASSIN is hurtling toward us this November, with a newly anointed PG-13 rating. Hey, doesn’t mean it can’t still be cool. Yes, it’ll take some faith… and a little man’n up from the movie itself. Let’s hope we’re all up for the challenge.

Ninja Assassin follows Raizo (Rain), one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is considered a myth. But haunted by the merciless execution of his friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them and vanishes. Now he waits, preparing to exact his revenge.

Look for NINJA ASSASSIN, starring Rain and Naomie Harris, everywhere on NOVEMBER 26th.

KILL YA NEXT WEEK WITH MORE
ACTION!
