Well folks PANDORUM is finally hitting theaters this Friday and to celebrate star Dennis Quaid has been making the rounds promoting the film. During this time our man JimmyO was able to talk to ‘The Quaid’ and managed to squeeze some details out of him in regards to sequels to a couple of his latest films: GI JOE and PANDORUM.
When JimmyO asked ‘The Quaid’ about the chances of a GI JOE 2: “Oh yeah, we’re all signed on to do another one. The first one did well so…”
Well you don’t need much more than that do you? I haven’t had a chance to catch GI JOE but I heard surprisingly positive things. Next up on the list is Christian Alvart’s PANDORUM. When JimmyO threw out a question in regards to a potential sequel here’s what ‘The Quaid’ hit him with: “Well, if the movie connects with audiences,,, if it does well, there is actually. There is a prequel and a sequel. The thing about PANDORUM is there is a mythology that goes along with it that is in some ways, very similar to how Joseph Campbell and his mythology was imprinted on STAR WARS. There is mythology that goes with Pandorum as well. Hopefully we’ll get to do it, that would be great.”
So there’s a sequel and a prequel planned? Nice! If PANDORUM ends up being as cool as it looks we may be in store for a solid sci-fi franchise! Did anyone have any idea there was that much planned for PANDORUM? A whole mythology? Damn. Well folks I’m sure GI JOE 2 will be in the works soon and PANDORUM hits theaters this Friday!
