Well, shit, it’s sure been a while since we’ve mentioned anything at all on James Cameron’s AVATAR. Seems odd because the flick sounds like something monumentally memorable. And, of course, it is Cameron whose last non-documentary movie was that piece of shit TITANIC.
At least today I can talk a little AVATAR with the release of the brand new still up top. What do you guys think? Pretty f*cking cool, huh? And yes, that is TERMINATOR: SALVATION’s Sam Worthington up front. The plot synopsis doesn’t do a whole lot to explain the tank behind him:
In the future, Jake, a paraplegic war veteran, is brought to another planet, Pandora, which is inhabited by the Na’vi, a humanoid race with their own language and culture. Those from Earth find themselves at odds with each other and the local culture.
I’m sure that a great deal of wild 3D action and effects lies within that plotline. The rest of Cameron’s cast includes Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Zoe Saldana, Giovannie Ribisi, and Joel Moore. AVATAR is still set to release on December 18th.
